Chun-luan Yang is a nurse with a background in art therapy and visual art. She currently works in the Psychiatric Department at the Tri-Services Hospital and is also a Ph.D. student in the Department of Nursing at National Yang-Ming University, researching “art and medical care.” She has a Diplôme National Supérieur d'expression Plastique (DNSEP, equivalent to a master’s degree) and an art therapy diploma from the Institut de Touraine. Yang’s work is video based and explores the disappearance and retention of moments and memories. She was selected as a visiting artist from Taipei Artist Village and took up residence in Cairo, Egypt. She was also once a resident artist in the Chiayi countryside where she led an art workshop for seniors. In more recent years, Yang has mainly researched the use of art in medical care; in 2018, she received sponsorship from the National Culture and Arts Foundation (NCAF) Inclusive Arts Project as a moderator for the “Now – I’m Here,” an art program for people living with dementia.
